How to Configure Halo Mesh System In Different Ways?

Generally, there are two ways for the Mercusys Halo mesh setup, i.e., via the web interface and using the app. This section outlines the stepwise procedure to set up your device seamlessly in both ways, as below:

  • Initially, make sure you plug the Halo mesh router into the power outlet.
  • Then, connect your computer to the available router’s network.
  • Now, open a web browser on your device and enter the mwlogin.net web address in the URL bar.
  • Additionally, you use the 192.168.1.1 IP address if your browser doesn’t support this web address. 
  • After that, log in using the valid admin details. 
  • Now, you reach the smart setup wizard of the router.
  • Hereon, navigate to the Basic Settings>Wireless to modify the SSID and wifi password. 
  • Additionally, go to Quick Setup to Add a Device or mesh node to your device. 
  • Similarly, visit the Advanced section to set up Parental Control, Guest Network, etc. settings.
  • Lastly, save or apply all the changes.

Configure Halo Mesh System Using the Mercusys App

  • To begin with, ensure to have the latest version of the Mercusys app on your smartphone.
  • Then, connect your smartphone to the home wifi network. 
  • Now, launch the app and log into your account using a valid email and password.
  • After that, you reach the dashboard of your Mesh system.
  • Hereon, tap on ‘Let’s Begin’ and then select a device as ‘Router’.
  • Further, select your device model and follow the further instructions. 
  • Next, tap on the “+” icon from the top-right corner of the app dashboard.
  • Hereon, add more nodes (Halos) to your network.
  • After that, tap on More from the bottom of the app for more options. 
  • Go to WiFi to change the default SSID and password, and enable Guest Network.
  • Similarly, visit Advanced for IP settings, Port Forwarding, MAC Cloning, Access Point, etc.
  • Further, configure the  Parental Control, QoS, and other settings following on-screen instructions.

Occasionally, some users get stuck during the Halo Mesh WiFi setup, regardless of whether they are new users or existing ones. Generally, they face issues due to internet connectivity issues,  technical glitches, wrong admin details, etc. Therefore, this section provides you with effective troubleshooting options to fix the configuration errors:

  • Primarily, you must have a stable and strong internet connection during the Halo Mesh WiFi setup. 
  • Additionally, you can use the ethernet cables to stabilize your internet connection.
  • Ensure that the Halo mesh system and other connected devices have a sufficient power supply.
  • Further, check the cable configuration and immediately discard or replace the faulty, tangled, burnt, and damaged cables.
  • Moreover, cold restart your Halo device to eliminate the technical glitches and bugs.
  • Cross-verify the admin details before logging into the Mercusys Halo dashboard.
  • Remove network interference and physical obstructions like mirrors, sheer curtains, heavy cabinets, walls, etc. 
  • If possible, reposition your networking device to a central, airy, and ventilated space. 
  • Most importantly, temporarily disable VPN, and proxy settings during the Halo Mesh WiFi System setup.

Yes, you can connect your device to the Halo mesh system using the WPS button. For that, tap on ‘More’ from the bottom bar and enable the WPS for the Halo and then for the client. Then, follow the on-screen instructions.
